Slidez

For Resource Studio in Rotterdam, Sander Leenders and I were able to start a big project with the work name "Profolio". Sander already worked for Resource Studio, he did some programming there. After that period the head of the company, Rien Swagerman had the idea to create a really great new website. Because Sander is the man of the technique behind websites, he asked me to join in this project as a designer.

The idea was to create a website for artists so they can have their own online portfolio. A lot of artist really make great work but sometimes the web is a technologic leap which can be difficult. Slidez is an easy to use website where photo albums and shows can be generated.

On the web were already a lot of websites offering the opportunity to create such a album. Slidez was different because of the use of Ruby on Rails on Ajax. This technique makes it possible to multiple upload photos, arrange them by easily click-and-dragging, portfolio pdf creator and so on without refreshing the page every time! It feels like working with a real computer program on the web.

Unfortunately we only got 3 months to work for Resource Studio. I created the complete look and feel for the website and Sander made a stable basic version of Slidez.

Rien took our Slidez in development with his company and has created the magnificent Viewbook. It is an honour to know that we were the beginning of Viewbook!
